New Wirelessly Exchange Workout Data For Traceadmills
SingleTap and Star Trac announced they have jointly developed a system for wirelessly exchanging data between Palm Powered handhelds and Star Tracís new Elite and Pro treadmills. Clinicians will be able to bring their Palm Powered handhelds to download and monitor all aspects of their patientís workout, while enjoying the capability to pre-program their own custom-designed workouts in advance.
The new Pro Partner technology will make Palm Powered handhelds an integral part of the workout experience. To use Pro Partner, handheld users will visit Star Tracís Web site (www.startrac.com) to download and install the application on their device. Once the user, or patient, gets onto the treadmill, they will place the handheld on the treadmill displayís left cup-holder to align the handheldís infra-red (IR) port with the treadmill. Once the application has been opened and the workout begins, the handheld will begin receiving workout data including speed, incline, heart rate, calories burned, and distance traveled. When the workout is complete, the user can review and compare it with previous workouts. Users can also create their own workouts on the handheld and bring them to the gym and upload them into the treadmill.
The capability to utilize the Pro Partner applications comes as standard equipment on the Pro Elite treadmill and is available as an upgrade when purchasing the Pro treadmill. Star Tracís mission is to provide products that help mold lifelong habits for health, fitness and rehab.
